The Haven of Rest is seeking (1) Child Caregiver for Good News Childcare, a licensed faith based early learning center. Preferably, candidate will have a minimum of CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in a childcare setting. Candidate must meet state of Michigan Primary Caregiver Qualifications. Applicants must be familiar with Developmentally Appropriate Practices, licensing standards, and experience teaching a faith-based curriculum is a plus. Candidate must have a nurturing and patient demeanor and overall passion for working with children as well as a flexible schedule up to 30 hours. The Haven of Rest Ministries, a faith based non-profit serving the homeless in the Calhoun County area, is seeking a Part-Time (up to 35 hours) Children’s Mentor to work with children in our shelter and childcare facility.
Candidate should have child development-related work experience and a strong passion for teaching and nurturing children. Candidate must have very good written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must pass a background check, drug testing, and have CDL or the ability to obtain CDL within a predetermined amount of time.
Experience working with emotionally and academically impaired students is a plus.

• General office work
• Painting/light re-modeling of Adult Foster Care or other division spaces
• Preparing/Serving food for a meal
• Volunteering educational opportunities
• Child Care/Day Care support for program participant children
