The Haven of Rest's Fourth Annual Life Recovery Program (LRP) Golf Outing was held on Friday, August 19th at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek. The sun was shining, and a great time was had by all. Look...even Ron Atwell is smiling!

Michael DeBoer, Community Coordinator of the MPRI Calhoun County office stopped by with some KPEP leaders and volunteers who have managed a garden in the downtown area this year. Donating the produce they harvested to the Haven, the volunteers experienced the joy of giving. Thanks very much Mike and team!

Marshall Fisher & his amazing group of grandsons from Second Missionary Baptist Church brought a wonderful collection of shaving cream & men's products for our H.O.P.E. Day that is upcoming. Thank you so much for the collection effort and the donation! We appreciate the many hands that make H.O.P.E. Day happen, Especially these young men!

The Haven of Rest H.O.P.E. Day was Saturday, August 20th, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Battle Creek. Hundreds packed into the FUMC dining area which also doubled as the table area for giving away the collection of personal care & hygiene items that were donated for the event. Thank you to all the volunteers (many of whom are NOT pictured here) for making the day possible!

The ladies from the Cornerstone Church Benevolence Society spent some time Friday afternoon, August 5th, learning about the Inasmuch House Ministry at the Haven of Rest, and what their support and involvement through the Cornerstone Church create. Lisa Foley, Inasmuch House Director (not pictured) hosted the ladies and gave a good overview of the many programs and ministries maintained by our family division. Thank you for the visit, ladies! It was good to have you!
